The new ISLA collection, created by German designer Sebastian Herkner for GAN, has been recognised with an Archiproducts Design Award in the Outdoor category, after captivating a jury made up of more than 50 industry experts.
For five years now, the Archiproducts Design Awards have been awarding the best in the world of design and recognizing originality, innovation and experimentation. A committee made up of international talent from fields such as architecture, communication and photography has evaluated over 750 proposals in the different categories. This year’s awards have been more special than ever because of the extra dose of determination, ingenuity and sacrifice that the pandemic has demanded of design brands.
The ISLA series, Herkner’s first collaboration with GAN, consists of three side tables and three seating modules: MENORCA, AROSA and the award-winning GOMERA, which can be perfectly combined to raise and personalise the outdoor experience. On a powder-coated aluminium structure, each module accommodates a generous seat and backrest upholstered in technical outdoor fabric. All modules are available in seven colour combinations: Coral, Sand, Shell, Blue, Green, Silver and Garnet.
With ISLA, Herkner explores the concept of modularity and outdoor living through comfortable volumes and irregular shapes. This flexible and versatile line was conceived to create different compositions and reinvent the way we live indoors and outdoors.
This award is in recognition of the company’s in-depth research and development work, as well as the close collaboration between the firm and the German designer. GAN would like to thank Archiproducts for this distinction and congratulate Sebastian Herkner and the other award-winning designers. In addition, we would like to make a special mention for another of Gandia Blasco Group’s brands, GANDIABLASCO, which has also been awarded in the Outdoor category with the ONSEN collection by David Lopez Quincoces and Francesco Meda.
